I don't think that's the best question to ask. Instead, I'd ask
if the things that Porsche chose to do in prepping the RSR are
specifically allowed in the Prepared Category rules. If they are,
then it is of no consequence whether Porsche or somebody else
prepped the car. If the mods Porsche has done to the car are not
specifically allowed, then I'd be categorically against any ad
hoc "adjustments" to allow the car.

It is my understanding - from a source who shall remain
anonymous - that the car was specifically allowed in Prepared on
September 1, 1999. I sincerely hope this is mistaken, as it
implies that special treatment was given to a single entrant. I
wouldn't want to have to worry about what might be allowed into
my class two weeks before Nationals, and I'm sure most of the AP
field fields similarly.
