Hi Gary and the List!
The Piloti driving shoe that you are asking about was
developed here(Portland,Oregon)and two of our Oregon
Region members were some of the first to have
them.Gary and Carol Christiensen are friends of the
guy whom developed the shoe, and are already big fans
of it. They and I have the problem of hurting arches
after a full day of racing. These shoes have better
support that all of the shoes on the market as well as
a more durable sole. The sole is a tad stiffer and
thicker than a Simpson. There is also a rubber boarder
around the edges, unlike the Simpson that has no
boarder, they probably will last longer since they wont
wear thru in the typical "Heel and Toe" spots.
I havent tried the shoe, yet, so I cant tell you
about how they feel and this of course is where
personal choice comes into play.
The shoe is also more expensive than the Simpson, but
you would probably buy a second set of Simpsons within
the life of your first pair of Piloti's.
Hope this long winded answer helps!
