That's BS, does anybody think that members of the region that puts on a NT
event don't see the map until the actual event?

How about the big cheeses.

All this does is limit the amount of people who have seen the map.

Hi folks,

The National office requested that the maps be removed from the Kentucky
Region site and William Lorings page, for the same reason Mike pointed
out about wishing that everyone or no one see the maps. The maps are
keep "top secret" to give everyone the same opportunity. In the rule book
the Conflict of Interest 4.8 which talks about pre running a course is in
the same spirit. Also the courses are not final until they have been checked
by Howard on Friday.

With a good scale map, entrants could make decisions about car setup, tires,
etc, that someone who was net impaired would not have access to. With
enough
lead time and a large site, portions of the course could be set up and pre
run. I know setting up the course in advance is stretching it some but it
is possible. Keeping a level playing field is what we are trying to do.

Part of Solo II is running what you find in front of you on the weekend of
the
event. Walking the course to learn it and then driving what is there. If
we
released the maps to Nationals to 400 of the 1000 entrants two weeks before
the
event and you were not one of the 400 would it be fair.
