Well, barring the attacks, Jay has a point. There are LOTS more SP
participants than there are SM participants. Plus, they have been around for
a while. People don't like change much. SP people are happy there, and don't
want their playground stomped on. From an SP point-of-view, there's nothing
wrong with their class. The people are mostly happy, the numbers are up,
what's the point of killing it? (and SM killing it WILL be their point of
view.)

IF SM draws the participants away from SP, then that will prove SP is
outdated, but that has to HAPPEN first. Both classes have to stand on their
own for a while and see if attrition has any effect.

Remember, STU (SM) was first pitched as a means to attract NEW members, not
steal others from other classes. In fact, one of SM's earliest problems was
convincing existing members that SM wasn't there to deplete the existing
classes. Now, it would appear that stealing members from other classes is a
GOOD thing.... I'm not surprised at Jay's reactions, just his methods....

Though, I gotta wonder what Dennis was thinking when he posted anything
about replacing SP on team.net. Yeesh...
