Re: TR6 engine/fuel problem.  My experience when Tilley exhibited
similar symptoms was that the METAL part of the fuel line had become
extremely clogged--to the point of only a drip getting through.
As a result, whenever I started it up, it would run the fuel out of
the carbs, then starve.  Solution for me was to replace the metal
fuel line; I didn't trust cleaning it out.  (Actually, replacing
the line was not a hard job on a TR6.)  YMMV.
