When you re-install the clutch lever arm, you will have to push the 
piston in.  When I reinstalled my slave after an overhaul, I was squirted 
with brake fluid as the piston moved back and compressed the fluid I had 
primed the cylinder with.  

A note on clutch bleeding:

Get yourself a 60cc hypodermic syringe and some tubing.  Open your clutch 
bleeder valve (there is an access cover in the car) and use the syringe 
to suck as much air out of the lines as you can. Each time the syringe 
fills with air, close the valve, pull off the hose and expell the air and 
reattach.  

Ifter you start gettin brake fluid into the syringe.  Bleed the clutch 
normally.
