If you happen to work construction, or know a roofer. there are a couple
types of roofing material that should work generaly come in .050
thicknes, you could glue layers together if needed. one is rubber 
.050 20x50 rolls, the other is white rubber with fiberglass
reinforcement. also 20x50 rolls . so if you know some one, or check
your local lumber yards or contractors, you may be able to buy some
samples.
