We used the 1/4" closed-cell high density foam that Toby mentions. This can
easily be cut in to shape with scissors for the body pads (even the rear
skinny section between the frame rails, but leave a gap for the fuel gauge
wire) and works good for the gas tank straps too. -Joe
1/4" foam works great,
BUT make SURE it's closed-cell high density foam. Pay extra for it.
The open-cell stuff is worse than the old 'horsehair'. Glue it in
place, and you'll be squeek-free well into the next millenium.
