Yes, high beams in the fog are a definite no-no, and "foglamps" have a marked
difference
in beam pattern from "driving lamps", most significantly in the sharp upper
cutoff that
keeps the beam very low. As one can tell from the CVC section about foglamps,
they are to
be aimed very low to the roadway
I don't remember if the auxiliary lamp switch on the Roadster can be activated
separately
from the activation of the headlamps, but there is definitely no interconnect
between the
high/low beam switch and the "foglamp" switch. The decision to use the
auxiliary lamps
with which beam of the main lamps has to be made by the driver (but isn't that
why we like
these 30+ year old cars? Because they still require us to do some of the
thinking?)
