Exhaust systems Q

My 1966 1600's new fancy headers end in a 2 inch pipe, and the 20 year old 
exhaust pipe is only 1.5 inches.  I can get a reducer (although a flex coupling 
reducer will be tough to find), but I wonder if anyone else (what a question 
with this group) has run 2 inches all the way on an early 1600 and what 
clearance issues have come up.
