Experienced TR racers argue about this all the time.  Some say "Do it!", some 
say, "Don't!".  The ones that say "Do It." claim that what's the difference 
if one wheel is sliding.  I side with those who say "Don't do it."  I have 
come to that conclusion after years of helping push cars with welded rear 
ends.  When you push them, you get to see what they are constantly up 
against, and the fact that it is not a good fix.
