On the matter of differences in information on the amount to be cut from
the crank to install the lip seal in the conversion kit, there was a
fairly lengthy thread on the other Triumphs list about this awhile back,
and that thread is likely available through listquest.com.

What I would advise for anyone contemplating installing the lip seal kit
is to obtain the best rear seal diameter from recent info, and then have
the crank ground to that best size plus the amount necessary to install
the correct size of Speedi-Sleeve. That way, when the lip seal wears a
groove, the sleeve can be replaced without having to find another crank
and having it machined down to the proper size, or having the existing
crank built up and reground in the seal area. If grinding down to size
is required, why not do it just once? <smile>

Cheers, all.
