I know someone who after 6-7 years sold his Concours winning Healey for a fly
yellow and black trimmed Cobra mustang (the last model, not the current
one....) With the advent of the new model, --the one he bought is now out of
date and probably worth 1/4 of what his Healey would be.
But then, it isn't all about money. He can drive the 'stang year round,
anytime. He can be comfortable, while beating the pants off of the majority of
other cars. I don't imagine he turns heads now, even as much as he did, when
new.
The Healey is all about intangibles. - The only real advantages I see are the
satisfaction I get looking at it, enjoying it's quirk laden performance, it's
retention of value, --and watching necks snap around when I go anywhere.
If you don't care about depreciation, and the intangibles are so close -for
you, between the two that you have to ask, ---then maybe the Mustang is a
better value for your wants, needs and lifestyle.

To me the new Mustangs looked interesting for the first week or so, but
after a while they just started looking like all of the other little buzz
boxes out there. I wonder if there is anything about them that will cause
them to desirable in a few decades. With the Healey you already have your
answer.
