Be assured I did a very extensive search before committing to special order=
ing the seals and bearings for the BJ7/8 pumps and the seals for the earlie=
r 6 cylinder ones.
Also I have researched interchange information for the BN1/2 parts without =
success. The problem with those pumps is that a good rebuild kit will inclu=
de a brass impellor and seal holder both of which will require CNC machinin=
g from billet, not an inexpensive process.

I understand that most of the Brits of the era shared some parts with tract=
ors, Triumph especially. For that reason it's possible to cross reference w=
ater pump repair kits in some instances and source them from Tractor Supply=
stores. It would be interesting to know if this is true for the Austin 4s =
and 6s.

Some parts, like the impeller seal, are hard to get if you can find them at=
 all.

With all of this talk about water pump quality, has anyone considered rebui=
lding the original pump with new bearings and seals? Just throwing some ga=
s on this fire.
