Cold and Rainy sounds like the weather these cars were built for. Come to
think of it, it's almost certaimnly the weather they were built in. But
seriously, the only way to clear the screen on a day like this is open a
window and let some fresh air in. Yes honest! And no the run of the mill
draughts don't count. Sounds like your heater was blowing damp air onto the
screen. Are you sure it doesn't have a leak?? B heaters often do (assuming
your's is a B) and if the drain plug isn't clogged the water doesn't appear
in the car.

Today while I was driving (cold and rainy, not ideal LBC weather) the
windscreen
refused to clear. The heater was trying its best, but could only demist the
area directly above the vents. Even a towel was of limited use. Is there a
product that could keep the windows from fogging up? Also, I saw something
at
the auto supply store that's supposed to help your windscreen shed water.
Has anyone had experience or success with either of these kinds of products?
Your advice would be appreciated.
