It's more than a little suspicious. You might check to see if the
installers removed, loosened, or cut your groundstrap. Also check the
wires to the battery for loose or poor connections that could have been
disturbed while the installers were futzing around under the car. Good

I had a similar problem on my venerable Plymouth.  It was towed away 
when the alternator died, so I think it was PO'ed to begin with.  
Anyway, The car wouldn't start without a jump, and when it shut down, 
it would totally drain the battery.  After another day, it wouldn't 
even start with a jump.  The problem turned out to be a bad ground to 
the starter.  Being unable to find the wire in a jumbled, homemade 
wiring harness (gotta love the DPO!), we cut both ends of it and ran 
a new wire.  No _known_ problems with it since then.
