Thanks to all of you for the words of wisdom.
Well, I talked to the machine shop guy again but, when pressed, he said
that there would be a good chance the treatment may warp it and that I
would then need to take it some other place to have it "belt sanded"
Well, then I thought thats almost the price of a good used one, which is
almost the price of a nice new one, which is almost the price of a header=
=2E =
So that leads me to start a new thread on headers.
