There are two options you have.
1. If you have your receipts you may use them as evidence that you
have done much to improve the quality and value of the car while you
are negotiating the payment.
2. You can request to purchase your car back as a salvage vehicle
after settlement. However, the purchase price will be affected by
your negotiations-the more you get the more you pay.
