There is also a new 14 cyl version of the same engine ( I cant find the link
at the moment ) 108,000 HP at normal rpm. (12 cyl one exceeds 100,000 hp in
overspeed).  Nice fit in a super tanker.

I saw a 6 cyl version of one of the earlier series of Sulzer engines in a
ship  a few years ago, was about 45,000 hp from memory. Truly an awesome
engine.

100 odd  rmp as max, but very interesting to watch one run at 12 rpm, ( 5
secs to go round once)

btw - Torsional vibration on these engines is a serious issue, and depending
on the prop shaft length and propellor configuration ( direct drive to prop,
no gearbox, engine is reversable) there can be a number of no go rev ranges.
These are overcome by passing through the critical speeds as fast as
possible.
