In my personal experience, it pretty much just buys
you lifetimne warranty, and the Craftsamn tools I have
are not macth for the hodgepodge of good toiols I have
by Facom and Mac and Hazet.
But I agree that there is cerainly a time and a place
for cheap tools. I have a ton of cheapy screwdrivers
around, and I love them. Granted, I also have a set
of Hazet screwdrivers that I use for tightening and
loosening screws, but the rest get used for anything
that I need. I pry small things with them, stir
solvent if I have to... who cares? Occasionally I'll
find a screw that no screwdriver seems to be able to
reach, so I'll heat up a cheap screwdriver and bend
the shaft to whatever angle I need. Then I keep it
forever in case I ever run into that particular
problem again... It's an awesome source of freedom
completely abusing cheap screwdrivers, and it's a
practice that gives me great pleasure.
