Oh, I'm not complaining per se. I *know* gas costs a truck load (or is
that lorry load?) in other countries. Gas, in my opinion, is one of those
costs of enjoying our cars, and one I gladly pay (hey, beats buying milk
in those quantities!)

It just sucks that where I live has, on average for the USA, higher gas
prices than other locations.

Also, this is just 82 octane. The premium stuff (92) is hitting about
$2.50/gallon, which granted is only 1.39 GBP per US Gallon, but is still a
chunk of change. AVGas is even more (I've seen if for about $4/US gallon
at rally locations, which is $2.237 GBP).

All in all, we're pretty lucky to have such cheap gas. I don't think I
could afford to be a 'car guy' in England, although you guys seem to get
cooler cars than we do. The car manufacturers are just now starting to
see real benefits from small diesel motors (with the exception of VW who
has always sold a diesel).

Okay, I'm done "fueling" the fire, as it were. Needless to say, there are
pros and cons of every country. That's what makes this world a great
place to live.
