OK here is what I did. I reversed the mounting plate up top on the body of the
car. I attached the shock to the forward most nut that is welded to the plate
(towards the front of the car). I did not reverse the spring plate yet. I'm
going to drive it for a while and see how it feels. I did go for a short ride
and first impression is very good. It's not stiff and it's not mushy. It
seems to be just right but I need to replace the front shocks before I can
make a final decision. The fronts are definitely mushy. I have new Monroe
Shocks that I bought from Ed Madak for the front. They go on tomorrow. The
speedo was reattached and that works fine. The car goes for inspection
Thursday. I just can't get the Tach and the ignition light to work.

First attempt with the tube shocks resulted in a really stiff ride. I think
I
need to adjust the mounting point at the top where it attaches to the body.
There is another mounting point that will give the shock more travel, which
should soften it up. I hope (-: Anyone have experience with this? The
mounting plates are not marked, so they must be generic to either side.
