Dear John: 

I cannot recommend driving in winter without a heater or the top.  I
once caught a stiff neck which persisted for sewven months.  I cold not
turn my head to one side.  My family doctor finally diagnosed the
problem.  I do remember one brutally cold New Year's Eve when I had my
date push start the car.  She did a great job.
