Or as an alternative, consider making a work platform to stand on when
you need to be "taller" for the vise work?  It might be easier than
the effort to make the legs and braces for a second table, and there
might be times when having a flat, level surface more than 4' long
could be useful, too.  In addition, the (6" high?) work platform might
be handy for other purposes, including getting the next generation of
shop users up to a good working height on the main bench.
