If you really want to make a Spitfire move, and still use a British made 
engine, I would use a Twin cam 4 cyl engine out of a Lotus Elan. They are 
wicked! I had a 1970 Elan +2, and the engine had so much power that I had to 
keep replacing the stub axles in the diff because it kept twisting them in 
half! To bad Lotus never made a head that would bolt to a Spitfire block!
