Not only will the Plastikote metallic be
dissapointing, but you will be lucky if it doesn't
chip, peel off & discolor due to engine heat. A nice
satin aluminum look is POR-15 engine paint in the
color "aluminum". ($16 a pint?) 

Something LIKE chrome in appearance (and won't change
color with heat) is jet-coating or ceramic coating.
It's less than chroming, but you had better ship now,
because shops tend to do them in cycles (wait until
they get a bunch of parts to be that same color and
then spray them all at once.)

Classic-Coatings will charge about $20 for a rocker
cover according to their price chart.
I'm not suggesting you have to send them to Classic
Coatings. There has to be some place near you that
does Ceramic coatings.
