Coming a bit late to this, but spare a thought for us poor Brits. We're
paying over $4.20 a US gallon for regular unleaded, around 75% of which goes
straight to the UK government...

Not "just" a writer but, an "educated
writer", obviously! I think CT has the
highest (combined) gas tax rate in the
U.S., though maybe NYC beats us out.
