Moss and TRF do not make their own wiring harnesses, they source them from
another company that makes them. Someone once posted the name of the
company, I forget its name.

Anyway. I put a new Wiring harness on the TR3. Once you work out which
part of the octapus goes where assembly is a matter of connecting the right
coloured wire to the right part. I'm sure this is easier if you remove the
old harness and route the new on the same day and not 3 or 4 years later.

The harness I purchased had connectors on all wires except the rear lights.
This is so you can trim them for proper fit (not everyone routes harnesses
exactly the same).

A car has multiple harnesses. That said, a TR3 has a seperate subharness
for each head lamp each front turn signal, the brake switch, heater, and
overdrive.

You can purchase headlamp sub harnesses with new oxidation free headlamp
connectors but you have to make up all the others.

There is a company in Southern California called British Pacific. This is
a Land Rover mail order parts company that is run by Land Rover and Triumph
enthusiasts.

British Pacific carrys all the special Lucas colour coded wires in the
correct sizes. While TRF or Moss carryes one size of solder on bullet
connector, British Pacific sells the correct size for the size wire you are
connecting.

They also sell new barrel connectors for joining bullet connectors
together, new ground connectors for bullet connectors, all the correct
spade connectors and insulation.

They have almost everything you need to build up a main harness or any of
the sub harnesses to factory stock specs. The only thing missing is the
triple ganged connector that allows you to connect 3 seporate circuits
through a single connector. If your car has these (TR3 has 2), don't lose
them or you will be replacing each connector with 3 single barrel
connectors.

You can renew the old triple ganged connectors by removing the metal tubes
and replacing them with new ones from single barrel connectors.

British Pacific 800-554-4133. Triumphs share a lot of parts with Land Rovers
