Richard, gotta know, given the history you stated: did you ever blend a
TD with a Flathead Ford mill? That was somewhat common back then. :-)

There was only one LBC -the MG- in the whole town at that time, most of us
didn't know a thing about them, and not much more about the 'merican ones we
drove. I had a 53 Mercury flathead 8, and the "hot" cars then were modified '50
Fords and '55/57 chevys (my Merc was too heavy to qualify). My first
experience with a TR was in '65 when I drove a girlfriend dad's TR3. I told
her I knew all about them and proceeded to put it in 2nd gear. Then I couldn't
find reverse.
