Steven,
I really wonder how streetable you would find a normally aspirated 175 HP TR6.
I friend JUST got his approx. 160 hp engine running.  Its idle is less than 
perfect.
It might be a matter of tuning, but the PI versions (with a pretty hot cam, 
similar to what is
in my friends car) don't require much vacuum to get the mixture into the 
engine.  A carb engine
just doesn't develop much vacuum with this type of cam.  A strong idle is a 
real issue.
