Cheez,

Everybody knows the only airbag in a TR4 is the driver.............

Common wisdom is a lap belt or 3 point harness. 4-5 point harness
are okay if you have a good roll bar.

If you want the rollbar to be "protective" It has to bolt to the
frame and be braced so it doesn't punch through the floor or collapse
in a rollover. The Roll bar I have for my `4 is a custom unit that
bolts to the floor boards over the rear spring mount and is braced at
the top of the rear wheel well, a strong point. It is also diagonally
braced from the upper left side to the lower right side of the bar
and that diagonal brace is braced to the left side vertical bar.
   (much cooler looking).

Are they always ugly black, or does someone sell chromed ones? Leather
covered ones? Are there any that are removable?

That is a DIY project. My Roll bar is BRG, like the car body

Any favorite vendors?

Custom is best (at least that's how I see it). Go to welder
experienced in constructing roll cages). You'll get a more reliable
    product.

They are helpfull (at least to me).

Improved handling?

    Yup...

How hard were they to install?

Ya got an electric drill and about an hour?

>Problems?

  None to speak of.

  Front only?

Before I got the "locker" (crude limited slip dif) installed front
and rear. After took off the front (waaaay too much understeer).

Front and back?

Whod you buy from?

JC Whitney... They were cheaper than "The Big Three"

    Has anyone done this?

Irv Korey has one in his six...

TRs are remarkably good theft deterent on their own... When in doubt
I switch off the electric fuel pump (they won't get far) or take the
    dizzy rotor with me.
Not much chance of your casual thief having one of them. in his
    pocket.

    How hard is the

If you want one you can adapt one from a a Ford unit, probably
cheaper than buying a "special rollover switch".

I had a TR AM radio... `Sold it to some sucker along with
the "nickle cheap" speaker. I rather enjoy the sound of the
     motor... Infinitely great entertainment value!

I

Buy Halogen sealed beams at your local Pep Boys/NAPA/Auto Zone...
It's cheaper than getting Hellas or Cibie lights.

I'll let soemone else take this one.

Greg Petrolati Champaign, Illinois 1962 TR4 (CT4852L)

That's not a leak... My car's just marking its territory...
