Absolutely, I used to use the crank a lot when the starter was giving me all
kinds of fits.  In fact, I used it so much I wrecked the special bolt that
the crank goes into in the engine and now it won't grab hold anymore.  Too
bad since I seem to keep knocking teeth off the ring gear and may find
myself stranded one day.
