OK, I'm in. First car was a beige 58 Ford Fairlane 500, bought in 1961. It
handled better than my mother's 55 Plymouth wagon, which isn't saying much. Four
of us drove it to Sebring in 1963 and lost a rear wheel bearing on the way home.
A few months later the Fordomatic started getting dicey. I had gotten the lbc 
bug
from a friend with an MGA Coupe by then, so the Ford was traded in on a Signal
Red 63 TR4, which I still have.
