I learned my lesson about disconnecting the battery while working in the
engine compartment when I short circuited
a can of WD-40 while lubricating the accelerator linkage. The arc
simultaneously melted a hole in the can and ignited
the contents. I found myself holding a flame thrower shooting flames
around the garage. Fortunately, the spray of flames was away from my
body, and I had a fire extinguisher handy. My guardian angel was watching
over me that
day.
