I can't see any reason they would ... in fact I've used "brake cleaner" to
clean clutch discs and never had a problem.
Big problem as I see it is getting the cleaner onto the disc ... might be
easier on a GT6 but on a TR there just isn't much access. Maybe if you bent
a piece of small diameter tubing to reach around the edge of the flywheel
...
