I'm sorry, but IMO if you don't do that at least once after buying a car,
then you deserve what you get !
Personally, I make it a habit to try to check every single bulb on the car
at least once a year, including the ones on the dash. And, I've discovered
that, even without consciously checking when I turn the key on, I'll usually
notice missing lamps and/or gauge indications. When the mechanic
disconnected the "check engine" light on my wife's Chevy, I noticed the very
next time I drove it.
