While I respect your opinion, I am wondering what "benefits" you are
referring to.  The only real one I can see is being able to attend the
VTR conventions.  Since you live somewhere that is accessible to the
majority of these events, that probably makes sense to you.  I am
seriously considering dropping my membership because I am not in that
geographical area.

I certainly have no problem with the new policy.  My family are members
of
clubs and associations that come with attractive benefits and also dues.
If
the benefits outweigh the dues then we simply do not join - How tough
can
that equation be to understand?

I strongly applaud VTR's board for adopting this policy.  Stripping
VTR's
web site of the "i ain't never going to join" freeloaders is an
excellent
idea.  Why should my dues support them?
