Randall, VTR does not pick the sites and then assign the local club to do
the National. A local club or in the case of TRF an organization steps up to
the plate and does all of the work. By the way that's where I met you so at
least you did come and in spite of the terrible weather had a good time (I
think). By the same token I don't know if a Southwestern club has ever
volunteered or volunteered and was rejected to do a National. Maybe they
have, only the principals would know that to be the case. Do I recall that
there was a National in Oregon a few years back (2000 maybe)? Before that in
Ft Worth TX in 1997 and Seattle in 1993.
As for cause and effect, I don't know that is a valid argument either way
since Triumphest has been for all accounts a success and would continue to
be if it were a combined VTR event.
