Another thing that is often overlooked is wear at the clutch master
clevis - either the pin is worn, or the hole in the pedal arm is
worn. In the stock setup, there is no way to adjust for this, and you
have that much lost pedal motion.

TriumphTune/Moss Europe sell adjustable pushrod/clevis combinations
that fit here very nicely. I don't recall the details - for all I
know, they're the same parts as the 4/4a slave pushrod/clevis - but
this solves the problem once and for all.
