I want to add a little to this discussion about the RED grease.
I put it into the rubber dust boot and into the back of the piston, it helps
to keep the water out and lubs the piston and mechanics contact area.
I also use small amounts of "Never Seize" compound on all of the surfaces
where the brake components rub metal on metal. I also use it anywhere where
rust will occur and I want to be able to take things apart in the future.(
exhaust bolts etc.)
