In the '60s, there was a very serious VW racer at what was then Delta Park 
(now Portland International Raceway, in Oregon).  Don't know much about it, 
but is was a real crowd pleaser and no less stable than a 356 Normal coupe I 
saw go endo at the same track.

You found a sanctioning body that will allow a VW Bug to race?  I would
think it has too narrow a track and too high a center of gravity to be
allowed on the race track. I've never seen one road racing. Why not get
