I have towed a lot of single axle trailers with no brakes with tow
vehicles with worse brakes than those on your Honda with never a problem.

Having said that however, the caveat is that you have to drive farther
out than normal and plan ahead.  Tailgating will get you in a heap of
trouble fast.

Don't know about mountain towing.  Brakes could be a problem in the rockies.

Just my opinion and I would guess you will get pro and con on this one.
