Yes, there is. The "Minimum" number of classes required for a VTR National
Convention Concours includes a "Modified" class. It would be up to the
host club to expand upon that if they could determine that there might be
sufficient numbers of "race" cars to form their own class (as, I believe,
was the case in Fort Worth this past summer). This class, of course, would
be ideally separate from the regular Modified class, which traditionally
includes mostly street cars with Webers, custom interiors or paint or
other features that would result in too many points lost when judged as a
"stock" class car. In the Modified class(es), cars are judged primarily on
workmanship and appearance, not originality.

Patina is high on my personal list of desireable features on a Triumph,
stock or modified. But I can't guarantee I'll be judging this class. (To
be honest, I can pretty much guarantee I won't be judging at all -- been
there, done that, got the grief....:-) )

Hmmm, perhaps originality could be a judging factor with THAT car, eh?
