If I understand you correctly, you would prefer not having any media attend
and cover the sport,

or,

do you confuse media coverage with sponsorship which infuses money and
certainly refocuses the racer's intent?

For example: the great dog sled race in Alaska gets coverage to allow people
to witness a spectacle of racing not available to most of the curious world.
Formula 1 is slave to its sponsors as well as subservient to Uncle Bernie's
whimsy and caprice.
