Mayf,
     We have used a light weight tow bar that pins to the front axle and has
a trailer hitch coupler for the last four years. At first I worried about
the loads on the front axle but it seems to work just fine, we do keep our
turns to a large radius though. We also put mud flaps on the truck to keep
the salt off the car.
