Hello Ralph:

The late Ray Gibbons, who used to grace this list with his wit and acumen,
once gently explained that the Miata really isn't a convertible at all.
Rather, it is actually a fixed head pseudo-convertible akin to those early
80s Lincoln Towncars and so on, that only appear to be convertibles.
According to Prof. Gibbons, the rare Miata that one sees with the top down
is in fact an after market conversion job.

Hope this clears up the issue.
