Bought my new 68 B-GT in D.C. from Manhattan Motors, may they roast in hell.
Acted like they were doing me a favor in taking my money.

They drilled holes in the back to mount two (2) of those ugly metal plates
advertising their company. When I complained, they took one plate off.
Didn't fix the holes, mind you. I was 20, just glad to be alive one week
after 'Nam and not willing to fight them on it.

Several months later, immediately after I got it tuned in Savannah (still
learning how to care for it myself), the regulator failed as I drove back to
DC. Rolled into town on my battery and asked them to make it right. They
did, and tried to charge me $160 (this was 1969, remember, big money) for a
tune up. I screamed and they cut it to $80, still more than the free
warranty service should have been.

Manhattan finally died of self-importance about 15 years ago.
