Jesse,

Plugging the tank might be a solution, but you have to take care of venting
the tank.
The fuel filling cap on the original system is a non-vented type.
If plugging the vapor separator system etc., you have to replace the fuel
filling cap with a vented type, otherwise you'll end up with a vauum in the
fuel tank.

I'm guessing from your reaction that that little hose goes to the vapor 
separator in the truck!  The vapor separator is still there... come to think

of it I pretty sure I thought it was a fuel pump (remember I was a stupid 
teenager).

Can I just disconnect the vapor separator and plug the tank?

Any concerns I should be aware of?
