Arrgghhhh! Well, it seems that OUR MAN BOB doesn't have any trouble with
HIS email software. Thank the Harry Thunderer for that!

I haven't suffered any lapses in emailability because I have resolved to
lead the computer phase of my life like I lead the lbc phase; WHY
modernize? I have a delightfully reliable 386 at home (trucking along at a
blinding 16 mhz and running windows 3.3 without a hitch (thank you very
much). This has always proved sufficient for me as 99% of what I do with a
computer is word 'processing' and the rate limiting step is cerebral, not
electronic. However, because the department's 'business manager' was in
charge of buying my work machine (he is a 'modern' sort of a guy, who has a
carcinogenic tan and drives a red Pontiac Firebird (you know the type)), I
am forced to work on a pentium machine with a red line at 180 mhz. I have
managed to resist the move to Windows 98, and am as happy as can be,
wallowing in the forgotten past of windows 95 and eudora ver.3. I should
upgrade to windows 98? Whatever for?

I'm sure that HFS would be proud of me. Scuttle bar? What the heck for?
Windows 98? BUT WHY??? There is no such thing as progress for its own
sake; progress must serve the dictates of man (not Mr. Gates).

I have spoken!

p.s. I'm starting up another listserv: nudnicks@flatearth.com Anyone
interested?
