10 years ago Australians didn't seem to mind paying $1000's extra for a ford 
(mercury) capri to subsidise exports to the USA to provide a competitive 
price for American buyers. The price here was in line with an MX5 (miata), 
but I dont think the capri holds a candle to it in the looks dept.
